his dinner & bottle of wine under the shade of a linden tree, & we his passengers strolled down the village.
Frankfort soon came in sight; the Weisse schaune, my old & favourite hotel received us & a stroll round the principal streets shewed Elizth that it was a town she could like. We fortunately found Mr Dick in his office, & he invited us to dine with him tomorrow at Offenbach.
TUES. AUG. 8 Shopping & lionising occupied us until we drove over to Offenbach, where the hearty & kind welcome of Mr & Mrs Dick who treated us an old friends, was very delightful to us. A very nice & sumptuous dinner had we, excellent coffee, a stroll over their beautiful gardens & shrubberies & little vineyard, all of which are most tastefully
