FRI. AUG.11

After an excellent breakfast with fruit etc. as in England (such another one we must not expect until we return home) we left Offenbach in the carriage I had purchased, a nice light ?britchen of dark brown color & in excellent spirits started off for Wurzburg. Some Offenbach ginger nuts were put into the carriage for our amusement by our friends whose kindness we shall long remember. Offenbach market was filled with variety; not so the road for it is flat & dull for some distance. Excellent & considerate arrangements there are on the road side of stories built of various heights[small pen drawing of steps like prize winners' podium at athletics' games.] for assisting persons in removing heavy burdens from their heads or shoulders.
