were rowing about watching perhaps as we were the dying glories of the sun departing from an almost cloudless sky & listening to the strains of music from a temple hard by. And as we all sat down to a supper in which ices were not forgotten a happy party of friends (among whom were some whose names I should be glad to preserve viz Mr & Mrs Kraaft, Mr & Mrs Mme Mold etc. etc.) while the military band played some beautiful airs one of which was echoed at a considerable distance by some of the performers purposely stationed there. An excellent effect it had. Strauss’s Grecian March was one my wife must have & play.
