journals of visits to this place I have done so. At night we went to the pleasure gardens by the side of the Main, called the Main-lust, & took coffee & supper amidst 2 or 3000 people all enjoying themselves in a similar way or in promenading. This al fresco style indeed delights me, it is well worthy of imitation & I wish could be adopted in England. A band of 30 instruments played in excellent style & one air from A bon Hussar which I have not heard for 10 years except at our own house, it was one indeed which my sisters & I were accustomed to sing before marriage separated us all, quite enchanted me. Very many good looking nay handsome people saw we here, an excellent idea it gave us of the Frankforters,
